Sabbath Schools

The Newberg Seventh-day Adventist Church is a family friendly community of people who love Jesus Christ and focus heavily on teaching His ways to children of all ages. We accomplish this during the time of our church service called “Sabbath School”.

All Sabbath School classes start at 9:30 am and end at 10:30 am.

During this time all members separate into their age appropriate classes. Each class has two teachers focused on teaching the bible, Jesus Christ and love for one another.

“Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better.” Colossians 1:10 [NLT]

Beginners

Beginners (ages 0-2) Saturdays from 9:30 am – 10:30am in the Beginner’s Ministry Room.
The purpose of Beginner’s Ministry is to assist families by providing a safe and loving environment for their children. To provide an atmosphere of learning in which the children are exposed to biblical truth so that they may know, love, and serve the Lord Jesus Christ.

Each Beginner’s Sabbath School Class includes a lesson from the Bible geared to their understanding, sing-a-long songs and a craft that helps drive home the point of the lesson.

Kindergarten

Kindergarten (ages 3-5) Our mission is to encourage and develop a deep love for God so that the children will trust and follow Him. From 3 to 5 years, the children are led through the main stories of the Bible by experienced teachers and parents. We use songs, felts and skits to keep the attention and make this precious learning time fun. Generally there is a craft time and snack time to round out the program.

Primary

Primary (ages 6-8) One of the challenges with teaching children is keeping them active and engaged as you teach them about Jesus. Our primary class is fun and interactive; with songs and music geared toward teaching bible stories with a lesson. Your children will leave with a better understanding of Jesus as their Savior and a desire to share what they have learned.

Juniors

Juniors (ages 9-12) They Junior level class begins to focus on more in depth bible study that is age appropriate. The children will be asked to share their thoughts on bible topics and to critically analyze what they are learning. The children are also given copies of Guide Magazine which is filled with true stories and amazing facts that help to encourage their spiritual growth and develop a relationship with Jesus.

Earliteen/Youth

Earliteen/Youth (ages 13-18) Our Earliteen and Youth classes are combined and offer a focus on discussion of real life issues they face and how the bible shows us how to deal with those issues. The teens are asked to critically analyze bible topics and to discuss ways to minister to the friends, family, and neighbors. The Earliteen/Youth are currently in the process of choosing a quarterly to use. The Cornerstone Connections or Realtime Faith lesson plans are being concidered and have the Insights Magazine available to them.

Ministries

The Newberg Seventh-day Adventist Church is also known for the many ministries run by individual members. Every ministry has the central focus of bringing Jesus Christ to  lost, while seeking to help with personal needs and develop Christian character in the people they touch. Jesus is the Great Physician. Jesus is our Teacher and our Guide. Jesus is the one who leads and puts his character in us. He is our Great Provider and our friend.
